Snow Crews, Salting Trucks and Skid Steers: Apply to Support PlowWow

Winter support categories: walkway crews, brine and salting trucks, loaders and skid steers, and snow-hauling trucks.

PlowWow is building backup capacity for equipment failures, demanding storms and winter work beyond its own route window.

A winter response depends on people as well as machines. A salting truck can be out of service, a heavy event can require extra hands and additional client demand can exceed the hours available on an existing route. Preparing those relationships before a storm gives a contractor a clearer picture of who can actually help.

We handle work in-house — and plan for additional support

PlowWow's own crews handle winter operations. We are inviting contractors to apply for a reviewed support list so we can discuss suitable backup when equipment goes down, an event hits hard or work falls beyond our own five-hour route window. The aim is to understand available capacity for existing clients and eligible new enquiries, rather than assume a machine is free because someone owns it.

What equipment or crew can you bring?

You might run a hand-clearing crew with shovels and snow blowers, operate walkway salters, or have a truck-mounted liquid brine system or granular spreader. Snow pushers, skid steers, Bobcat machines, loaders and backhoes can support suitable clearing work. Dump trucks and hauling capacity may help with snow relocation where the site and receiving arrangements are agreed.

Each capability answers a different need. Tell us how many pieces are available, what attachments or capacities they have, how many operators you can supply and what work the equipment can handle. Include limits that matter, such as narrow access, transport needs or existing commitments.

Availability matters as much as fleet size

A truck already committed to another route is different from a truck ready for additional work. Give your base location, travel radius, available hours, overnight capability and typical notice needed. Be realistic about what you can offer during the same weather event that your own clients are facing.

Insurance and WorkSafe details are part of the conversation

The application asks about liability coverage, commercial vehicle or equipment coverage and WorkSafeBC or the relevant provincial WCB status. PlowWow will review the proposed work and request supporting information before approving assignments. If you are a sole operator or unsure about registration, explain your situation rather than claiming clearance you do not have.

WorkSafeBC explains contractor coverage and clearance considerations. A selected answer on an online form is not a clearance letter. The actual business, people and work need to be reviewed.

Local support now, expansion interest for later

The current focus is Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. We are also collecting interest from contractors outside that area for future expansion. Applying from another city does not establish a current service route there or guarantee a future assignment.
